The NEG-UUDEL Mongolian Performance Art Group participated in the Kommagene Biennale 2024 in Turkey.
Antichoss, an ancient god, organized the Kommagen Biennale, the earliest biennial held 2000 years ago.
Today, the Kommagen International Art Biennale is taking place for the second time in Kahta, Adiyaman province of Turkey, to revive and commemorate its civilization's spiritual and artistic aspects.
For this edition, the theme "RISING” refers to the cyclical nature of historical eras and cultures and the need for spiritual and economic rebirth following traumatic events in the recent past.
The Euphrates region experienced a rich history and civilizations. Throughout the millennia, various cultures have left their mark on this part of Türkiye, where monuments of the Assyrian, Persian, Commagene, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and many other kingdoms and empires stand side by side.
The region's mysterious landscape, stunning colors, and amazingly inspiring nature enticed the participating artists.
Artists created their works by contemplating the site's historical dimension, cyclical changes in the natural environment, or the region's architectural, social, economic, and ecological challenges.
During the biennale, artists engaged with the locals daily and began working at various workshops to complete their work. With the assistance of locals, our work was delivered and installed on the island. We have been supported by the entire family and the village in every way possible. Realities speak for themselves, and art is a form of expression.
Both the artists and the locals shared a lot of the RISING. Healing is what it is meant to be.
